As with most 16-man missions, it's quite hard to "solo" when you have an entire 8-man group with you from the "other" side of the mission. For the rest of the discussion below, let's assume a couple of things:
- The other team of 8 henchmen are considered allies and therefore are allowed for a "solo" completion.
- The other team of 8 doesn't include a player and/or their heroes.
The Start
Pin your group of henchmen to the corner of the area you enter.
There are afflicted spawns where the first group to the left spawns so that you do not aggro it, if you decide to fight it with your allies, make sure to focus the Ritualist / interrupt Flesh of my Flesh, Elementalists and Monks can pose the usual issues.
You vs. Kuunavang, Round 1
After getting past the group you'll encounter Kuunavang for the first time, as he positions himself closely to the ledge even melee allies can dps him. It is possible to burst him down in this phase to get a cut scene trigger (at 25% HP), position yourself and the allies left of his position (towards the downward portion of the whirl).
Kuunavang has natural resistance and is mainly stationary, hence Wastrel's Worry and Chaos Storm are good, "Finish Him!" (180 damage = 15%) can be used to trigger phases / cut scene.
The First Gate
If you end up not getting a cut scene trigger Kuunavang will fly down further. A group of afflicted will spawn once you pass a trigger down the hill, fighting it can be avoided be moving to the left, up the hill (might not always be successfull as Brutus and Sheena are slow, figure out where the trigger is by stutter stepping and having them close to you as you hit the trigger will yield good success)
Once you progress beyond the group and close in on the gate it is advised to move with small steps as the regular Afflicted, the boss and his groups have different spawn triggers and you can fight them separately.
Methodically clear through the groups until you can fight Kuunavang the next time, rinse and repeat the aforementioned tactics until you get a cutscene trigger.
The Harvest Temple
When entering the Harvest Temple your henchmen will be teleported to you, you can either flag them into the spores / from left to right to get them killed but in all honestly your 8 allies will take care of Kuunavang by themselves so you can also just not bother and dps the boss.
