Sanctum Cay

This mission involves some either fighting or running to the mid-way point, then avoiding a few groups to get to the end, and then fighting waves of enemies in groups of 2-3 enemies on the shore. The trick at the end is to trigger the waves of enemies while at the same time avoiding the trigger that spawns the NPC you need to protect. Alternatively, you can tank the mobs at the end, but with interrupts from the ranger, that can prove difficult.

Mission (pre boat)

  • You must bring the Scepter to the Vizier at the middle of the mission. But you can drop it as you need to gain the benefits of your weapon/shield. Additionally, when you drop the Scepter, the Restless Spirit will stop following you and stay exactly where it is. This can be used to great effect to body block enemies.
    • In addition to the above, when you're holding the Scepter, you get an extra energy pip, and when you drop it and stand in its aura, you have +10 maximum energy.
  • The first group of Level 13 Inferno Imps can be dragged to Evennia where she'll spam Heal Area. Stand next to her for very strong heals. If you're struggling with the second groups of Imps, don't forget your armor +10 vs elemental shield. Or you can skip them.
  • After passing the wooden bridge up a steep ramp, there are up to two pop ups of Level 17 Smoke Phantoms here. Drop the Scepter before engaging them because Enervating Charge will be casted on you while you're holding it because apparently the Scepter is registered as a martial weapon.
  • If you brought an IMS, you can run past the next boss and the White Mantle mobs. Once you run past them, you'll see 4x Hellhounds. You can pull these into the White Mantle mobs. There's another 4x Hellhounds afterwards that can also be pulled into the same White Mantle mobs, or just ignored.
  • Be wary of the 1x Smoke Phantom that popups at the start of the swamp.
  • You can LOS block the first 2x Bone Dragons.
  • The Bone Dragon Boss group is actually a patrol. This means that they can have their leash range extended. You can combine this with the Restless Spirit to block the melee to kill this group without too much trouble.
  • Before turning in the Scepter to the Vizier, it's best to clear the two groups before him. This is because you'll get some allies after the cutscene (2x Smoke Phantoms & 4x Grasping Ghouls) and you don't want to lose any of these new allies to this group that you could've cleared out beforehand. You'd rather these new allies fight the White Mantle at the doorway into the next area. Note that when speaking to the allied Smoke phantoms, they will follow you instead of rushing the enemies.
  • Remember to talk to the Restless Spirit after handing off the Scepter to the Vizier, as the Restless Spirit will linger where the Vizier is until you talk to him again.

Mission end (using separate triggers)

  • The easiest method to handle the end of this mission is to trigger the waves of enemies without triggering the Vizier to spawn. Once all the enemy waves have spawned and piled up at the dock, you pull them away from the dock using a bow.
    • This image shows where you can stand to start the waves of enemies.

    • This image shows all of the safe spots you can stand without spawning the Vizier. A gold coin indicates a place you can stand without spawning the Vizier. The location the character is at will spawn the Vizier.

    • Here is another perspective of the locations you can stand without triggering the Vizier Spawn.
      • TirSbUD.png
  • It takes a full 6 minutes for all waves of enemies to spawn and run to the dock.
  • You will need a Longbow or Flatbow to pull the enemies off the dock. Be careful not to step on the trigger that will spawn the Vizier. A Flatbow has a higher arc, so it's recommended.
  • Note that pre-clearing all the enemies that are on the beach south and north-east of the Vizier/boat location is useless since the enemies getting to the Vizier/boat location are new spawns.

Mission end (tanking all the enemies)

This method involves having a very tanky build which can survive multiple enemies. You'll have to deal with AoEs from Elementalists, interrupts from Rangers, spawns from both sides, and a White Mantle Boss. Once such build that is able to tank these waves of mobs is the following:

Utilizing the Restless Spirit

The Restless Spirit can be gotten early on in the mission and be used to body block enemies throughout the entire mission. It can be used all the way from the start of the mission until the very end. Remember that when you drop the Scepter, the Restless Spirit won't move anymore. Here is an Imgur album which shows all the ways the Restless Spirit can be utilized to make the mission easier through body blocking.
