Doing this mission as a level 8/9 Ranger. I highly recommend level up to maybe 10 before doing this mission. I nearly got stuck twice because I didn't have enough DPS. Some things to note:
- There are a lot of devourers that pop up in this mission. They range from level 4 to 8 and are warriors, rangers, and necros. The group size of the pop ups can range from 3 to 4 enemies, but pop ups can be very close from each other so be careful not to keep moving forward after the first group has appeared.
- After the first devourer boss, there will be groups of 3-4 Charrs. Rurik will stop following you and rush them. Some of them will have healers. Rurik can tank most groups for you. Rurik will stop rushing and follow you again after the group of 3 N.
- Rurik will rush again once you cross the river just before the prisoners, running to them and aggro'ing things, so be careful here.
- There are a few Charr bosses. You might need an answer for the warrior's Healing Signet.
- Once you get to the bridge, Rurik and Erol will wait until you go around. You can either open it asap or go ahead past the door level and kill all the mobs (second option is the safest).
- Since Rurik will spend him time "Knock"ing at the door, and Erol dies relatively easily, you can go ahead and pull some groups of three away from the pack. At least this way you can retreat at any time and not have to worry about Rurik's health.
UNTESTED: I believe you can simply take Rurik to the end, and then kill the two charr in the first group and just let the last one live. After about 15 minutes, Rurik will finish the "Knock"ing and the mission will be completed. You don't need to fight all the groups, since the 2nd group won't run in until the 1st is dead and you're letting 1 Charr from the first group live.
