Ring of Fire is highly dependent on random Boss Spawns. In addition, you need to bring a build that has enough fire power to take down at least one Mursaat Tower. There is a Pet Build that can be used by any class to complete this mission.

Mission
You'll be fighting a lot of Mursaats in this mission, so confirm that all your armor pieces infused.
Of all the Mursaat bosses you meet during the mission, only the last one needs to be killed to complete the mission. Meaning, you can skip any of the other Mursaat Bosses you come across.
Running
- At the start of the mission, you can run by the big group of Mursaat and they will only cast Spectral Agony on you. You can also wait a few second and they will go away when “following” Brechnar Ironhammer.
- Stick to the right and run past the next two groups, each consisting of 2x Mursaat Mesmers & 1x Mursaat Elementalist.
- You can restart the mission until you only aggro one of these groups when running past.
- Draining your own energy by cancel casting and then hiding energy will negate the Mursaat Mesmer's Energy Surges.
- Holding a caster weapon will prevent the Mursaat Elementalist from casting Enervating Charge.
- Consider equipping the collector Ascalon Aegis and any wand.
- Consider a second set of armor that helps against lightning damage or prioritizes Armor Rating/HP over energy.
- Once you're past these two groups and you're facing a Mursaat Tower, hug the left wall to completely avoid it.
The Ettins and 1st Boss
- Once past the Mursaat Tower, you might run into some pop ups of nightmare pairs, that only do real damage in melee. They strip enchantments and transfer conditions.
- As you start walking down the large crevasse, a group of 3x Igneous Ettins (often including a Warrior or Ranger boss) will begin a patrol from the east that will cause them to flank you. You can meet this group at the entrance of the crevasse and pull them into the Mursaat Tower using a bow. This is a quick, easy method to kill them as long as you don't aggro the Ether Seal at the Mursaat Tower.
- Alternatively, you can let this group pass by then kill it at leash range. Be cautious of the Ranger Boss’s Spike Trap.
- After the crevasse, there are two groups of 3x Igneous Ettins past a path of lava. If you're lucky, both groups have been taken out by the Mursaat Boss at this location. Otherwise, you can fight the first group by pulling with a bow and fighting them on the edge of their leash range on your side of the lava. The second group will not reach past the lava, and so dispatching them is not recommended. Given enough time, the Mursaat Boss should eventually kill the second group.
- It's possible to run by these Igneous Ettin groups, the Mursaat Towers, the Mursaat Boss, and the two Jade Bows, especially while Ettins and Mursaats are fighting each other.
- Once the Igneous Ettins are dead, you can either LOS-Block the Mursaat Boss, wait for it's pathing to move it out of the way, or run right through it.
- The LOS-block spot is directly to the left when you exit the lava. There is a slight hill here that will LOS-block wand damage.
- It is possible to barely have the Jade Bows at cast range without being inside the Mursaat Tower effect.
The Breeze Keepers
The Breeze Keepers can be extremely dangerous with 15 Domination, 15 Illusion, Wastrel's Worry, Power Spike and Migraine. This is the only area in the mission you'll be fighting them (unless you go the back way). There's four total groups: two groups have 4x Breeze Keepers, and two groups have 3x Breeze Keepers. One of the Breeze Keepers in the 3x group is replaced with a Rider Boss.
- The most common technique for handling the Breeze Keepers are to get them to fight the groups of 2x Jade Bows & 1x Elementalists located at the two Mursaat Towers to the west of this location. When pulling this group, the 1x Mursaat Elementalist typically lags behind the 2x Jade Bows (because Caster Mursaats have a movement speed < 100%). You can also LOS-Block the Jade Bows at the top of this ramp.
- The Mursaat Tower, Jade Bows, and Mursaat Boss from before are also able to kill these Breeze Keepers if you can safely pull them into each other. This method is far less common through because of the distance between the two areas.
- Other methods of handling have included using degen, since they don't have a heal, or Spell Breaker since they are full casters.
- Breeze Keepers never cast Migraine on Warriors (whatever the secondary profession used), making this part way easier for this profession.
- There are a lot of "safe spots" where patrols won't run into you, such as the western-most ledge just after coming down the hill from the above Mursaat Tower.
- Because the Breeze Keepers enter the Mursaat Tower's effect zone, there is roughly a 10% chance that every time they enter that they'll be affected by the "Mursaat Tower (effect)" which will cause the Mursaat to run towards them since that effect acts as an extension of the Mursaat's aggro range.
Frontway method
Note that if you want to fight the towers at melee, you will be under the effects of both Mursaat Towers.
The 1st Two Mursaat Towers
First, read up on their effects on the official wiki
- Mursaat Tower have an infinite (or somewhat infinite) health regen (capped at +10) and have Natural Resistance. Using skills that only put a health degen on them is useless.
There are four popular methods of killing a tower currently:
- Using Wastrel's Worry and Interrupts as well as a fair amount of energy gaining skills.
- Using a pet with 2 attack skills and attacking it with a bow.
- Using a build with enough Marksmanship and bow damage.
- Letting the tower exhaust itself to slow down its damage output.
Here are some general tips for fighting the Mursaat Towers:
- When engaging these towers, be sure to position yourself so that you're not within the energy loss effect of both towers.
- When using the WW/Interrupt method, it's generally a good idea to stop trying to kill it if you get the "Mursaat Tower (effect)" debuff early on in the fight.
- Hiding energy is useful tool when using the interrupt method since you can hide the energy needed for the interrupt without suffering the energy loss from the tower to the hidden energy.
- Using the Bow Method, it is recommended to use a Flatbow (max range and attack speed) and to use the height advantage as much as possible.
- Of note, you can extend the leash range of patrols of Lava Spitters to bring them on the Towers. This will require a build with very high survivability and is hard to pull-off.
The Ether Seals and 2nd Boss
- When fighting the two Ether Seals just past the towers, be sure to engage them one at a time. They will not use their spell on you until you attack them, even if you are in cast range.
- Note that while fighting these Ether Seals at melee, you’re under the effect of the two Mursaat Towers inside and might aggro enemies inside (reason why melees usually use the backway method).
- Mursaat Boss-specific suggestions:
- This boss can be pulled outside of the fort and fought alone.
- If you're using a pet, and the Mesmer Mursaat Boss spawns here, allow the pet to fight within the Energy Loss aura from the Mursaat Tower (just within the doorway) so that the Mesmer Mursaat Boss can't use Ether Feast on the pet.
- If you're using a pet, the Necro Mursaat Boss can eventually be bugged out where it stops casting Life Transfer on the pet as it tries to get to the player.
- The Monk Boss doesn't use Aura of Faith if you don't attack him.
- The Warrior boss has increased movement speed.
The Three Patrols
There are three groups within the fort that can be killed before ever engaging the two Mursaat Towers:
- 2x Jade Bows & 1x Mursaat Elementalist, which is patrolling immediately in front of the gate/stairs.
- This group can be pulled with a bow.
- 2x Jade Bows & 1x Mursaat Necromancer, which you'll see patrolling deeper west into the fort.
- Once you see this patrol, step into the pulsing -2 energy debuff ring that the tower gives out at the top of the gate/stairs. Wait until you get the debuff (happens once per every 50 seconds) and when you do get debuffed the enemy patrol will start running to you. Pull this enemy patrol away from the towers and kill it.
- 2x Jade Bows & 1x Mursaat Mesmer, which you won't see immediately.
- This patrol won't begin moving until you move past the Mursaat Tower to the north. The patrol sits in an alcove west of the bridge. If you've already killed the Necro group above, then you should have a safe area on the northern wall, just past the Mursaat Tower, to heal up. Then head back to the stairs and use the same method used for the Necro group above.
- Sometimes this patrol will behave in a way where they run away from you instead of run towards you, depending on how far away they were when you initially aggro'd them. If this happens you can either kill the tower first, or find a way to LOS-block the two Jade Bows with the Mursaat Mesmer and kill them within the fort.
- The group of 2x Jade Armors and 1x Mursaat Elementalist that patrol in front of the bridge will not stray from it's patrol unless aggro'd by the player.
The 2nd Two Mursaat Towers
- Once you've cleared the patrols mentioned above, these two Mursaat Towers can be killed just as you killed the previous two towers.
- The southern tower can be left alive.
- When killing these two Mursaat Towers, be sure not to stand in both of the Mursaat Tower's energy draining auras (again, if you fight at melee range, you have no other option).
The Lever and 3rd Boss
- Continue towards the bridge, killing the groups of Jade Armors and single Mursaat Elementalist.
- Consider whether you want to kill the Mursaat Boss within the "Lever" room before or after the Ether Seal.
- The Mursaat Warrior Boss will chase you all the way outside the fort and just down the stairs/gate. It has increased movement speed.
- You can use the "Lever" now or wait, as mentioned below.
The Bridge and 4th Boss
- The group of 2x Jade Armors & 1x Mursaat Elementalist on the bridge are not part of the same group as the Mursaat Boss on the bridge. Pull the group separately before engaging the Mursaat Boss.
- You can LOS-Block the Mursaat Boss on the bridge by dragging it back to where the Ether Seal was defending the "Lever".
The 5th and Final Boss
- It's worth considering keeping the Lever closed. This will allow you to easily break from the group of 2x Mursaat Mesmers & 1x Mursaat Elementalist that will race towards you once you touch the gate on the other side of the bridge.
- The 2x Mursaat Mesmers might run away while the 1x Mursaat Elementalist might try and fight you through the gate.
- Inside the boss room is two groups, each with 2x Mursaat Mesmers and 1x Mursaat Elementalists. Both of these groups must be killed. If you cleared the bridge on the way here, you can pull them in that direction.
- The boss itself has a very very leash range.
Backway method
This is the preferred method if you cannot kill the two Mursaat Towers or the two Ether Seals at the entrance of the fort (especially useful when you are melee).
- Instead of going to the entrance, go North where the Lava Spitters are.
- Lava Spitters can be LOS’d to negate their damage and you can run past them.
- One of the hardest parts of going the backway is that you meet Lava Imps that run Mind Burn. One group is particularly problematic because it is inside lava; but they are patrols and can therefore be dragged out of the lava by extending their leash range.
- Lava Imps attack at longbow range.
- Lave Imps don’t use Mind Burn on you if you have more energy than they have.
- You are also going to run into another group of 2x Breeze Keepers + 1x Breeze Keeper Boss.
- Once you arrive at the backway, you'll need to fight 1x Mursaat Boss, 1x Mursaat Tower, and 1x Ether Seal to enter the fort. You can then catch-up on the Frontway method starting at “The Lever and 3rd boss”.
Bonus
Bonus of this mission is not much harder than the mission itself. Read the official GW Wiki to check for the extra objectives.
- The Seer is never in any danger since it can't die. You will never need to save it.
- The Eidolon is weak and it is very unlikely that you can't kill it or die to it if you did everything else up to him.
- Remember to equip other armor pieces that need to be infused (if you have some) before giving the Spectral Essence to the Seer.
