Ice Caves Of Sorrow
  • There are a couple of Mursaat throughout this mission, but there hasn't been an opportunity to Infuse armor just yet, so they all have to be completely avoided.
  • The Siege in this mission does armor-ignoring Cold Damage.

Mission

  • The Stone Summit Heretics will maintain -13 HP degen on the player through Crippling Anguish and Conjure Phantasm.
    • They're paired with a single Level 13 Herders.
    • The Siege area can be utilized to kill the first two groups through good pulling.
    • The entire group has no self heal, and so a Longbow/Flatbow with Apply Poison can easily defeat these groups too.
  • It's not necessary to go down to the Ice Lake and kill the Stone Summit Engineers. Instead, you can use an IMS to run past the Siege on the bridge.
  • Furthermore, you can continue to run past mobs and enemies:
    • After the Sieged bridge, you can run to the Dwarven Powder Keg Station and blow up the door to enter the Caves without killing anything.
    • Once in the Cave, you can run past all the mobs in here.
    • After the Cave, there's a large open area with some Mursaat, but the White Mantle patrols are mostly harmless. You can run to this Keg too and blow up the door to the left (without the NPCs) to continue on to the end of the mission without having to protect an NPC.
  • Once you're at the later half of the mission, there will be a ton of Mursaat Elementalist.
    • Let these Mursaat get ahead of you and follow behind them. Be cautious to not corpse-aggro them if one of them die but not the others.
    • Keep them within your radar range so that all the NPC attacking behaviors function.
    • They will die to Siege just before the long, metal bridge at the northern-most section of this area.
      • It's risky, but advisable to pull the Mursaat from high ground once they're in the siege to ensure they stay within the Siege area long enough to die. You don't need to hold aggro, but just make them turn around within the siege to extend their time within the kill zone.
      • Alternatively, you can let them die once they settle (after the bridge), which can take 10-20 minutes, but don't go too far on the bridge to avoid triggering the Monk Boss (see below).
  • The Stone Summit Monk Boss, along with the Stone Summit Monk, and 2x Stone Summit Rangers can be one of the trickiest parts of the mission.
    • When you first enter the radar range of this group (~once you are 3/4 of the bridge), they will run from the top of the hill, through some siege, and position themselves at the bottom of the range — safe from siege.
      • However, you can do two things to make this fight easier:
        1. When following the Mursaat Elementalist up until this point, don't ever touch hug a right-side wall. Doing this will trigger the run down of the group and they'll be at the bottom of the ramp before you approach.
        2. Aggro them while they are going down and place at the top of the hill, safe from Siege and LOS'd from the group (as seen here)
  • The Stone Summit Warrior boss is not in a group. The group of 2x Rangers and 1x Monk can be pulled separately.
    • You can run past this group, then use the raised terrain on the west side of them to LOS the entire group.
    • Once the Stone Summit Warrior boss is alone, you can melee glitch him to make the fight easier.
      • Having a skill to counter his Healing Signet is highly recommended.
      • By using Cleave, this boss can dish out fairly high damage.
      • If needed, you can go get Evennia and have her help in this fight. She can spam Heal Area and with good position, you can have it only affect you and not the Boss.
  • Once the Stone Summit Warrior boss is dead, go release Evennia, and escort her to the boat.

Bonus

  • You need an infused armor set to approach the bonus as you'll be fighting Mursaat.
  • After clearing the White Mantles in the Ice Caves, proceed to clear the three Jade Armors which apply Spectral Agony on melee hits and should thus be approached at leash range.
  • The group consisting of three Mursaat Elementalists (Thunderclap + Chain Lightning + Spectral Agony) should be approached with care and at max range. Clear via degen / WW + YMLaD.
  • The next group of White Mantles can be cleared through the closed gate.
  • Head to the Dwarven Powder Keg Station and go back to open the gate and then once more to open the cell of Jonar Stonebender (talk to him once to accept the bonus).
  • The bonus can be turned in by talking to Hamdor Grandaxe (after letting the Mursaat Elementalist patrol pass).
